About the role

You will be the right hand to a Dubai-based founder who runs a group of companies in performance marketing and consumer brands and splits his time between Dubai and Europe. Your job is to take every administrative task off his plate, business and personal, so his time goes to decisions and deals rather than logistics.

We are looking for an A player. This is a fast-moving environment with high expectations: priorities change daily, decisions are made quickly, and the standard is that things get done properly the first time. You need to be driven, want to work hard, and take pride in running a tight operation for someone who moves fast.

This is a hands-on, high-trust role. You will handle calendars, travel, bookings, paperwork, payments, vendors and follow-ups across several companies and several countries. You should be the kind of person who closes loops without being chased and notices problems before they land on his desk.

What you will own

Business administration

• Manage calendar and inbox: triage, prioritise, draft replies, schedule and reschedule across time zones
• Prepare, chase and file documents: contracts for signature, invoices, KYC and compliance requests from banks and partners, company renewals (trade licences, visas, insurance)
• Coordinate with accountants, lawyers, banks and agencies; track deadlines so nothing lapses
• Keep shared drives, access lists and company records organised and current
• Take notes in meetings when asked, track action items and follow up with the people responsible

Travel and bookings

• Plan and book flights, hotels, villas, ground transport and restaurants, often on short notice and with changes mid-trip
• Manage loyalty programmes, entry requirements, visas and travel documents
• Coordinate pet travel logistics when required

Personal administration

• Handle personal bills, subscriptions, insurance, vehicles and property matters in Dubai and Europe
• Manage household staff and service providers (cleaning, maintenance, vets, groomers, trainers)
• Research and arrange appointments, gifts, events and reservations
• Run errands remotely: returns, deliveries, renewals, forms

What success looks like

• By day 30: You own the calendar and inbox end to end, know every company entity, bank and key contact, and have a live tracker of renewals and deadlines.
• By day 60: You have handled at least one full international trip solo, including changes mid-trip, and taken over all personal bills and subscriptions.
• By day 90: The founder is not touching admin. You flag issues before they become urgent and propose fixes rather than questions.

What we are looking for

• 3+ years as an executive assistant, personal assistant or chief of staff to a founder, senior executive or private individual
• Based in the UAE or Europe, already holding the right to live and work there, and able to invoice as a freelancer or through your own company
• Fluent written and spoken English is required; any additional languages are a plus
• Proven experience booking complex international travel and handling last-minute changes calmly
• Comfortable with numbers and paperwork: expenses, invoices, bank forms, compliance requests
• Strong with Google Workspace, WhatsApp, Slack, Notion or similar, and quick to learn new tools
• Skilled with AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT: you use them daily for drafting, research, summarising and structuring work, not as an occasional experiment
• Track record of automating your own repetitive tasks (for example with Zapier, Make, n8n, spreadsheet scripts or AI agents) without being asked to
• Discreet by default; you will see sensitive financial, legal and personal information
• Self-directed: works from a list, chases without reminders, confirms when something is done
• Calm under pressure, allergic to loose ends, direct in communication, and comfortable working mostly alone with a founder who moves fast and changes plans often

This role is not for you if

You need a fixed 9 to 5 with no interruptions, you prefer to wait for instructions rather than propose a plan, or you are uncomfortable handling someone else’s money, documents and personal life with total discretion.

Tools we use

Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive), WhatsApp and Slack for daily communication, Notion for tasks and documentation, Claude for drafting, research and workflow automation, and standard travel and booking platforms. Experience with UAE government portals (GDRFA, DED, Dubai Now) and European banking is useful but not required.

Working hours and availability

• Core hours: 09:00 to 18:00 Gulf Standard Time (UTC+4), Monday to Friday
• When the founder is in Europe, core hours shift to Central European Time
• Reachable for urgent travel or booking issues outside core hours and on weekends; this is balanced with flexible time off during quiet periods
• Occasional in-person time in Dubai or Europe (a few days per quarter) is a plus, not a requirement

Confidentiality and trust

You will have access to passports, payment cards, company accounts and private correspondence. The engagement is conditional on a signed NDA, reference checks and a background check. Access is granted step by step during the probation period.

Compensation and terms

• Fee: EUR 3,500 to 5,000 per month (or AED equivalent), depending on location and experience, invoiced monthly
• Performance bonus: up to EUR 2,000 per month on top of the fee, assessed monthly against agreed targets (deadlines met, zero missed renewals or bookings, response times, issues caught before they became urgent)
• Engagement: independent contractor. You must already hold the legal right to live and work where you are based and be set up to invoice (freelance permit, sole trader, autónomo or your own company). No visa sponsorship is provided.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 10+ years of hands-on AEM development experience, with a strong foundation in Java, Sling, OSGi, JCR, and Apache Web Server
• 5+ years of experience leading AEM architecture and delivery teams in client-facing applications. 

Proven Skills and Abilities :

• Lead the design and implementation of AEM-based architectures to support digital marketing strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AEM solutions with existing systems.
• Design caching and security strategies (Dispatcher, firewall, CDN)
• Define strategies to support multi-site and multi-language web applications by fully leveraging the capabilities of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Create and manage A/B and multivariate tests with Audience Segmentation from 6sense using Adobe Target. Leverage A4T to enhance analytics data captured by A/B Tests.
• Demonstrate experience in integrating with third-party applications ( SalesForce, OneTrust, 6sense, ) and Adobe products (Target,  Launch,  Analytics and CJA ) with AEM.
• Experienced in provisioning access using Adobe Admin Console,  using Adobe Support as needed and handling production deployments using Adobe Cloud Manager. 
• Deep understanding and experience in working with Adobe Suite of products including Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Target, Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics and Customer Journey Analytics. 
• Extensive hands-on experience in full-stack development, with a strong ability in both system and application design.
• Develop and oversee OSGI bundles, AEM templates, HTL/Sightly components and services, AEM launches, workflows, localization features, AEM Mobile and Forms applications and the AEM DAM.
• Strong hands- on experience of Components, Templates, Taxonomy, metadata management, Forward and Reverse Replication, Workflows, Content Publishing and unpublishing, Tagging, Deployment(Maven) and Content migration/ planning.
• Experience working with Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks such as Vue.js and React, along with comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and its backend frameworks of OSGI, Sling, Sightly etc. 
• Provide expert guidance on AEM system engineering and support engineering best practices providing future-proof solutions. 
• Deep understanding of system architecture including high availability, disaster recovery, caching, CDN, and persistence layers.
• Work closely with the Marketing team to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Proven track record of launching complex, enterprise-level platforms using AEM Cloud Service or AEM 6.5
• Provide on-going technical support to business as well as a team of AEM engineers, functional SMEs, and business analysis across the organization.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — capable of engaging both executive stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and test-driven development practices.

We’re looking for a technical, hands-on, and infrastructure-minded Engineering Manager to lead our Notifications team within the Growth organization. Notifications is a full-stack team owning the platform and infrastructure that powers every notification Discord sends, the orchestration layer that optimizes notifications globally across types, the in-app notifications center, and the user-facing settings and client experience. You will lead a team of full-stack engineers operating business-critical systems that fan out to hundreds of millions of users while shipping the re-engagement surfaces that bring them back.

This role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager of Growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead a team of full-stack engineers building and operating the notifications platform — Elixir services, Python backends, pubsub pipelines, and the Kubernetes infrastructure underneath them
• Set technical direction for notifications infrastructure and ensure systems scale reliably as volume and complexity grow
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to define and execute the notifications roadmap
• Use experimentation and metrics to drive continuous improvement in notification engagement, retention, and long-term user trust
• Build a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and instilling engineering best practices
• Partner with platform consumers across Discord to evolve the primitives other teams depend on to reach our users
• Partner with engineering leadership on strategic planning and organizational improvement

What you should have

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with significant time building and operating backend or infrastructure systems at scale
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
• Comfort owning production systems built on technologies like Elixir, Python, pubsub/streaming pipelines, and Kubernetes, with strong intuition for reliability, throughput, and cost at scale
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to define and ship solutions
• A track record of growing engineers and helping team members succeed
• Strong ownership mindset — you stay close to the technical decisions your team makes and can discuss them in depth with anyone at Discord
• Ability to drive a culture of 80/20 thinking, fast iteration, and high-quality delivery

Bonus points

• Experience leading teams that own shared platforms or primitives consumed by other engineering teams

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 to $341,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own a portfolio of existing customers to ensure adoption, value realization, and retention.

• Present and negotiate renewal proposals, structure multi-year options, and manage contract value through strategic account management.
• Monitor customer health using usage analytics, telemetry, and business insights to identify and address risks early.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior enterprise sales expertise leveraging MEDDPICC & Value Selling.
• Experience working with enterprise software customers or in a DevOps environment.

The base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 – $125,400.00 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
