I’m looking for an experienced Architectural Drafter \/ Designer to join my growing Australian construction team. If you have a strong background in producing accurate architectural and construction drawings and have experience supporting Australian residential or light commercial projects, I’d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n

This is a fully remote role where you’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, and estimators to deliver high-quality, construction-ready documentation.<\/p>\n

What You’ll Be Doing<\/p>\n

Prepare architectural drawings and construction documentation from sketches, mark-ups, engineering details, and project specifications.<\/p>\n

Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, framing details, and construction drawings.<\/p>\n

Revise and update drawings throughout the design and construction process.<\/p>\n

Ensure all documentation complies with Australian building standards, NCC requirements, and project specifications.<\/p>\n

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and other tea ———- mbers to ensure design accuracy.<\/p>\n

Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and organized project documentation.<\/p>\n

Interpret architectural plans, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.<\/p>\n

Assist in developing complete construction-ready documentation for residential and light commercial projects.<\/p>\n

What I’m Looking For<\/p>\n

Proven experience as an Architectural Drafter, Building Designer, or Architectural Technician.<\/p>\n

Proficiency in AutoCAD or other industry-standard drafting software.<\/p>\n

Strong understanding of architectural drafting standards and construction documentation.<\/p>\n

Ability to accurately interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and technical instructions.<\/p>\n

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.<\/p>\n

Strong written and spoken English communication skills.<\/p>\n

Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.<\/p>\n

Reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a dedicated workspace.<\/p>\n

Highly Preferred<\/strong><\/p>\n

Previous experience working on Australian construction projects.<\/p>\n

Familiarity with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.<\/p>\n

Experience with residential and\/or light commercial construction.<\/p>\n

Knowledge Of<\/strong><\/p>\n

Structural timber framing<\/p>\n

Facade systems<\/p>\n

Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF\/LSF)<\/p>\n

Experience preparing 2D construction documentation.<\/p>\n

Understanding of construction quality procedures and material take-offs.<\/p>\n

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.<\/p>\n

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Drafting, Building Design, or a related field is an advantage.<\/p>\n

Who Will Succeed in This Role<\/p>\n

I’m looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in producing accurate, construction-ready drawings. You’ll be comfortable working remotely, communicating with an Australian-based team, managing multiple priorities, and consistently meeting project deadlines.<\/p>\n

If you have experience supporting Australian residential construction projects, that’s a significant advantage.<\/p>\n
